Overview

Takahashi Curtain WALL Corporation (高橋カーテンウォール工業株式会社) is a Japanese company specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of precast concrete (PC) curtain walls — the non-load-bearing exterior wall systems used on high-rise buildings. The company was founded in 1951 by Hisao Takahashi as Takahashi Shokai in Kiyosumi, Koto Ward, Tokyo, where it began manufacturing and selling secondary cement products. It was reorganized into a joint-stock company in 1965 and entered the curtain wall business, later describing itself as having steadily grown sales and, despite being a late entrant, captured the No. 1 position in the industry. Its official site presents it as the "leading company of PC curtain walls." The company's product range centers on precast concrete curtain walls with a wide variety of surface finishes, including exposed aggregate (stone-implanted), tile-implanted, painted finishes, and decorative formwork, marketed under texture and graphic-texture lines. It also promotes Ferrocrete (フェロクリート®), developed jointly with Nihon Cement, and ultra-lightweight PC products such as Calcon 14 and Calcon 11. In addition to its core facade business, the company operates an AQUA facilities division (アクア施設部) that plans, designs, builds and maintains water-based facilities such as school and competition pools, hotel and resort pools, and fitness club pools. It has also been involved in hotel, restaurant and thalassotherapy businesses through subsidiaries. Headquartered in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, the company operates production facilities including the Iwai, Yuki, Tsukuba and Shiga plants, and established a joint venture in Dalian, China in 1992. It was listed on the Tokyo over-the-counter market (JASDAQ) in 1990. The current representative director and president is Takeharu Takahashi. The company has articulated a management philosophy of pursuing the material and spiritual happiness of all employees and contributing to social progress, and in 2022 defined mission, vision and values, which in 2026 evolved into a philosophy serving as a code of conduct.
