Taiwan AI Labs is a privately funded organization based in Taiwan with offices in Taipei and Kaohsiung. It was established in 2017 and is described as the first open AI research institute in Asia. The organization focuses on trustworthy and responsible AI research, leveraging Taiwan AI talents and industry strengths to establish responsible methodologies and standards for healthcare, finance, and news media innovations in Taiwan. Its subsidiary Yating Intelligence focuses on building enterprise-grade AI solutions, launching FedGPT in 2024 and upgrading to FedGPT AgentTeam in 2025.
