Taishita Label Music Co., Ltd.

Taishita Label Music Co., Ltd. (タイシタレーベルミュージック株式会社) is a Japanese music label and rights-management company established on January 15, 2007 as a joint venture between the talent agency Amuse Inc. and the record company Victor Entertainment. Its purpose is to centrally manage the sound recordings of the rock band Southern All Stars and to deliver that music more actively to the market. The company is headquartered in Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, and its main business includes planning and production of master recordings and videos, manufacture, sale and rental of those recordings, planning and production of computer programs, and management of copyrights and neighboring rights related to recordings, videos and programs. The Taishita Label itself originated in 1983 as an in-house label within Victor Musical Industries (now Victor Entertainment), initially under the Invitation label. It became part of SPEEDSTAR RECORDS in 1992. The label is a private label to which only Southern All Stars and its individual members belong. Its name derives from the Japanese word "taishita" (大した, meaning "great" or "formidable"), suggested by band member Yuko Hara. The label uses a stylized sea bream (tai) character logo known as the TAISHITA mark or "Tai-kun." In 2007, Amuse and Victor established Taishita Label Music Co., Ltd. to handle production and rights management for Southern All Stars-related music. The company's president, Masaki Nakanishi, had long served as the band's manager at Amuse. The label has been involved in events such as the Chigasaki Southern Art Fireworks in 2018 and the community FM station Chigasaki FM, which opened in 2023 with Nakanishi as president. In 2025, the label became an independent division within Victor Entertainment following an organizational restructuring. The label's roster includes Southern All Stars, Keisuke Kuwata, KUWATA BAND, SUPER CHIMPANZEE, Yuko Hara, Hiroshi Matsuda, Kazuyuki Sekiguchi & Sunayama All Stars, Inamura Orchestra, and TABO'S PROJECT, among others.

The Taishita Label was established in June 1983 as an in-house label within Victor Musical Industries (now Victor Entertainment), initially under the Invitation label. On July 5, 1983, the single "EMANON" and the album "Kirei" were released from the label. In 1992, it became part of SPEEDSTAR RECORDS, a new Victor label headed by Ken Takagaki, who had been Southern All Stars' producer since their debut. In 2007, Amuse and Victor established Taishita Label Music Co., Ltd. as a joint venture to handle production and rights management for Southern All Stars-related music. The company's president, Masaki Nakanishi, had long been the band's manager at Amuse. In 2018, the label officially participated in the Chigasaki Southern Art Fireworks, providing music. In 2023, Chigasaki FM, a community FM station operated by Taishita Label Music and Amuse with Victor's investment and cooperation, opened on October 1, with Nakanishi as president. In 2025, the label became an independent division within Victor Entertainment following an organizational restructuring.
