History
The enterprise was founded in 1961 as the Bobruisk Repair and Mechanical Plant, created by decision of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee dated 13 July 1961 and order No. 123 of the Industry Administration dated 26 July 1961. It was located on a separate plot in the area of Gogol Street 177. In 1963 it was transformed into a mechanical plant, and by order of the Minister of Tractor and Agricultural Machinery No. 310 of 17 September 1969 it was renamed the «Selmashagregat» plant. In 1969–1973 the plant was subordinate to the Ministry of Tractor and Agricultural Machinery of the USSR, and from 1973 to the Ministry of Machine Building for Livestock and Feed Production of the USSR. In 1977–1987 the plant was part of the «Bobruiskfermmash» production association and produced conveyors for root and tuber crops. In 1978, construction of the «Selmashagregat» plant began due to the acute need for pneumatic brake systems for agricultural machinery. In 1985, the product list was expanded with air distribution valves, receivers, brake chambers, mainline filters and control output valves, and new facilities were built, including a three-story production building No. 3 with four-story amenity premises constructed by Stroitrest No. 13 and subcontractors. In 1988 the plant was withdrawn from the «Bobruiskfermmash» association and subordinated to the «Kormmash» state production association of the Ministry of Agricultural and Tractor Machinery of the USSR (from December 1988, the Ministry of Automotive and Agricultural Machinery of the USSR). In 1991 the plant was transformed into a leased enterprise and transferred to the jurisdiction of the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus for Industry and Inter-Sectoral Production (from 1994, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus). On 19 May 1994 the enterprise was reoriented to the production of brake systems for vehicles of the Minsk Automobile Plant and received the new name «Bobruisk Plant for the Production of Brake Equipment and Mechanisms» (abbreviated as TAiM). On 21 June 1994, the formation of the joint-stock company «TAiM» on the basis of the «Selmashagregat» leased enterprise was registered by the Bobruisk City Council Executive Committee. On 29 June 2000 the enterprise was reorganized into an open joint-stock company. At the same time, the plant continued to produce agricultural equipment. In January 2021, OAO TAiM together with the company Valeo mastered the production of air-conditioning systems for bus vehicles of OAO MAZ; representatives of OAO TAiM, OAO MAZ and Valeo attended the opening of the assembly production. Today the company is part of the BELAVTOMAZ holding and supplies brake systems and pneumatic brake drives to the Minsk Automobile Plant and a number of other Belarusian and Russian manufacturers, as well as other products. The enterprise employs about 1,500 people according to Wikipedia, while the company's own website states over 1,000 employees.
