Overview

t2i – Trasferimento Tecnologico e Innovazione is an Italian consortium company (società consortile) that supports businesses in making innovation a continuous process and a lever for regaining competitiveness in their markets. It was created in 2014 from the integration of the activities, projects, human resources and infrastructures of Treviso Tecnologia and Polesine Innovazione, and is based in the Veneto region of north-eastern Italy. Its stated mission is to accompany companies in defining and developing innovation paths through a portfolio of specialised services. t2i addresses all types of enterprises. It assists new entrepreneurs in defining and launching innovative businesses, and also supports large companies and multinationals in research projects at international level. Its most prominent service lines are intellectual property (trademarks, patents and technical standards, including information and orientation on UNI and CEI norms); testing and calibration laboratories plus user-centred design, used to support product qualification and market recognition and to test new products during development; research and development, including innovation, research and funding-opportunity services; training, organisation and skills development for both companies and individuals seeking new training or job opportunities; and start-up support through a certified incubator, helping new innovative enterprises to be born and offering premises within the incubator. The organisation is active in European cooperation and funding programmes. In 2026 it promoted, together with the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovation and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO), the opening conference of the SEAS – Sustainable Enterprises Advancing Blue Solutions project, which presented a €2 million call for Blue Economy companies. It also runs information events on Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy intellectual property funding schemes such as Marchi+, Brevetti+ and Disegni+, and selects innovative start-ups from its incubation network to take part in national contests such as Startup Marathon®. It further engages in initiatives for female entrepreneurship, including the Veneto Female Entrepreneurship Committees' Mentor Network pilot. t2i operates as a private consortium rather than a listed company, and its brand is associated with technology transfer and innovation intermediation in Italy, particularly in the Veneto region, with a reach extending to European projects and international research partnerships.

History

t2i – Trasferimento Tecnologico e Innovazione was established in 2014 as a consortium company (società consortile) through the integration of the activities, projects, human resources and infrastructures of Treviso Tecnologia and Polesine Innovazione. This merger brought together two regional innovation support organisations into a single entity focused on technology transfer and innovation services for businesses in the Veneto area and beyond. From its foundation, t2i has positioned itself as a bridge between enterprises and the innovation ecosystem, offering intellectual property services, testing and calibration laboratories, research and development support, training, and certified incubation for start-ups. It serves both new entrepreneurs and established large companies or multinationals, including in international research projects. Over the years the organisation has expanded its activities into European cooperation. In 2026 it partnered with the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovation and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) to promote the SEAS – Sustainable Enterprises Advancing Blue Solutions project, whose opening conference in Venice Mestre presented a €2 million call for Blue Economy companies. It also continued to run information events on Italian intellectual property funding schemes such as Marchi+, Brevetti+ and Disegni+, and to support start-ups from its incubation network in national contests like Startup Marathon®. Its involvement in the Veneto Female Entrepreneurship Committees' Mentor Network pilot reflects a broader commitment to inclusive entrepreneurship. As a private consortium, t2i is not listed on a stock exchange. Its brand is recognised in Italy as a technology transfer and innovation intermediary, particularly in the Veneto region, with a growing profile in European projects.
