Surf Ghana presents itself as building community through surf, skate and culture. Its Freedom Skateboarding & youth culture initiative in Accra saw the Freedom Skatepark open in 2021 as the first skatepark of its kind in West Africa, becoming a landmark for Ghana's growing skateboarding community; after the closure of the original site, the community continued through skate programs, DIY infrastructure, the Freedom Lab and new initiatives supporting the next generation of Ghanaian skateboarders. Vibrate Space, described as Surf Ghana's creative community hub in Accra, opened in 2022, bringing together recording, rehearsal, DJ practice, workshops, artist development, photography and film, and hosting the Vibrate Film Lab dedicated to analogue photography, experimentation and visual storytelling. Surf House opened in 2023 in Busua as Surf Ghana's home for surfing, hosting coaching, youth programs, visiting mentors and the Sankofa Surf Club, and supporting board repair, shaping knowledge and skills development within the surf community. The Sankofa Surf Club was launched in 2024 to provide structured surf training and development opportunities for young surfers, combining surfing with swimming, fitness and mentoring.
