Overview

Sunday Afternoons is a family-owned company rooted in the Pacific Northwest, founded by Robbin and Angeline Lacy. It began with The Original Adventure Blanket™ in 1986 and later repurposed material scraps into sun hats, leading to the iconic Adventure Hat™. Today, the company continues to craft innovative and sustainable headwear and accessories.

History

Sunday Afternoons was founded by Robbin and Angeline Lacy, who raised their family in Ashland, Oregon. In 1986, Angeline began sewing waterproof, portable blankets for beach trips and backcountry picnics, named The Original Adventure Blanket™. They sold them at craft fairs in Oregon. As the blankets grew in popularity, the Lacys repurposed material scraps into sun hats, eventually creating the Original Adventure Hat™ with UPF 50+ sun protection, a wide brim, and a protective neck cape. In 2007, the second generation Lacys joined the business. Today, the family-owned company continues to craft innovative and sustainable headwear and accessories.
