State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited

State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China whose core business is the construction and operation of the power grid, responsible for ensuring reliable electricity supply in Hunan Province. It was established in October 1993, with its predecessor being the Hunan Provincial Electric Power Industry Bureau, and in September 2017 it was converted from a system of ownership by the whole people into a limited liability company. The company operates 14 city (prefecture) power supply companies and 98 county power supply companies, with a total workforce of 65,800.

In September 2017, in accordance with the deployment of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the provisions of the Company Law, the company was converted from an enterprise owned by the whole people into a limited liability company.
