Overview

Stars.TV is a Polish music television channel that broadcasts popular hits from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and contemporary songs. It began broadcasting on 19 October 2012 using a licence issued in mid-November 2012 by the Czech RRTV, and satellite distribution via Hot Bird started on 22 October 2012. The signal is free-to-air. The first programme aired was Best Oldies, with the first music video being Tina Turner's "The Best". The channel expanded its distribution over the years: cable distribution began on 17 November 2012 within the TV Pasja offer; online viewing started on 20 December 2012, initially on the broadcaster's own website and later via WP Pilot; and from 1 April 2013 it began carrying advertisements through Polsat Media. On 31 January 2014 Stars.TV introduced age ratings, linked to plans to obtain a Polish licence for digital terrestrial multiplexes. On 3 February 2014 the KRRiT granted Stars.TV a Polish licence, and it began broadcasting within digital terrestrial television. In 2022 it was the third most-watched music channel in Poland. As of 5 January 2026 the station broadcasts from local and test multiplexes: MUX-L1 (MWE Networks) from Jelenia Góra, MUX-L3 (MWE Networks) from Częstochowa and Tomaszów Mazowiecki, MUX-L4 (MWE Networks) from Wrocław and Świdnica, and the BCAST test multiplex in Warsaw and Gdańsk. In September 2025 director Mariusz Wójcicki announced that the station would gradually withdraw from terrestrial distribution due to cost savings and low viewership from terrestrial multiplexes. On 5 January 2026 the station ended broadcasting on the MUX-L2 multiplex of TVT, transmitted from Rybnik and Ornontowice. The channel's programming is built around themed music blocks and countdowns, such as BEST HITS, BEST POLISH, BEST 70's, BEST 80's, BEST 90's, BEST 00's, BEST BALLADS and BEST ROCK, along with recurring specials like Top 100 Hity roku, Top 150 Ballad Hits, Top 100 Eurodance Hits and New Year's Eve party countdowns. It has refreshed its on-screen graphics several times, including on 14 October 2016, 2 December 2019 and 13 April 2022, when it changed its logo.
