Overview

Stanislaus Brewskovitch is a Dutch craft beer brand based in Enschede, in the eastern Netherlands. It was founded in 2015 as a craft beer store and organiser of specialty beer festivals, with the stated aim of promoting specialty beer culture in the east of the country. The original shop opened its doors in March 2015 on De Heurne in the centre of Enschede, and the first Dutch Craft Beer Festival was held on 2 May 2015; the festival has since been staged annually in early May. From 2016 the company began brewing its own beer as a contract brewer, initially at Othmar in Ootmarsum until 2018. Its beers are now brewed at Brouwerij Troost in Amsterdam and at Rigtersbier in Buurse, while pub and festival specials are produced in its own small-scale brewery inside the brewpub. In October 2018 the brewpub opened in the former Menistenkerk (Mennonite church) on Stadgravenstraat in Enschede. Besides a 26-tap 'beer organ', the church houses a brewing installation and a small craft beer shop; the De Heurne shop consequently closed. At the rear is the 'Sjikkertuin'. The brand's core range includes SambalBij (blond, 5.6%), All Black (stout, 7.5%), TUKR (red IPA, 5.0%), Barry Weizen (weizen, 5.2%), Cappu dei Capi (coffee milk oatmeal stout, 5.3%), Triple Rock Church (tripel, 8.0%), Witches Hammer (red lager, 5.3%) and Toontje Lager (pilsner, 5.0%). Seasonal beers include Strawberry Basil Splash (IPA, 5.9%), Koala Beer (session IPA, 3.4%), Bock the Casbah (weizendoppelbock, 8.0%), Bockie Wonderland (smokey bock, 6.5%) and Winter Blues (winter ale, 8.5%). Several past beers, such as Liquid Fruit Cake, JeKaterina, SunMilk, Smugglers Gold and Thunderbird, are no longer in production; some were collaborations with other breweries. Stanislaus Brewskovitch beers have won numerous medals at the Dutch Beer Challenge and other competitions, including gold medals for All Black (2020, 2023), Cappu dei Capi (2020) and Witches Hammer (2021, 2022). The brand operates as a private company and remains active in Enschede, combining brewing, hospitality and events.
