Stadtwerke Karlsruhe Netzservice GmbH is a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH. It operates as a network operator for electricity and gas, technical service provider for water supply, and construction service provider for the district heating network. It is also the basic responsible metering point operator for secure measurement of energy and water consumption, and operates the metering technology of its energy and water networks in compliance with calibration law. Additionally, it acts as a state-recognized testing body for electricity, gas, water, and heat, and provides line plans for construction companies and cooperates with installation specialists.

Stadtwerke Karlsruhe Netzservice GmbH started operations at the beginning of 2014. The reason for the spin-off of the previous services from Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH was the requirements of the Energiewirtschaftsgesetz (Energy Industry Act), which mandate non-discriminatory access to the networks for all energy suppliers. To ensure this, energy providers like Stadtwerke Karlsruhe GmbH may not simultaneously operate the networks they use.
