Solid Automotive Berhad

Solid Automotive Berhad was incorporated in Malaysia as a public limited company on 12 September 2013 to facilitate listing on the Main Market of Bursa Securities. The Group's history traces back to 1982 when its MD, Ker Min Choo, together with Executive Director Ker Mong Keng and their brother Ker Boon Kee, established Solid Corporation in Johor Bahru, Johor, for trading of automotive electrical parts. The company later expanded through acquisitions and brand development, including the Hansa Parts brand and a trademark licence agreement with Lucas Ltd.

Solid Automotive Berhad was incorporated in Malaysia under the Act as a public limited company on 12 September 2013 under the name Solid Automotive Berhad to facilitate listing on the Main Market of Bursa Securities. The Group's history can be traced back to 1982, when MD Ker Min Choo together with Executive Director Ker Mong Keng and their brother Ker Boon Kee jointly established Solid Corporation in Johor Bahru, Johor, to undertake trading of automotive electrical parts and components in Malaysia. They subsequently acquired equity interest in Uni Point (formerly Pam Industries Sdn Bhd) in 1986 for wholesaling aftermarket third party branded automotive electrical parts. In 1990, the Group started pursuing the OBM business model and began selling in-house branded parts under Hansa Parts. In 1991, they acquired a dormant company in Singapore named Auto Empire, which commenced business in 1992 in import/export of third party branded automotive parts. Milestones include obtaining distributorship of Unipoint branded parts in 1998, establishing JBS for remanufacturing in 2003, signing a trademark licence agreement with Lucas Ltd in 2012, and IPO listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2013.
