Solberg Hansen

Solberg Hansen (often styled Solberg & Hansen) is a Norwegian coffee brand and roaster with roots dating to the late 19th century. It is one of the oldest continuously operating coffee houses in Norway, based in Oslo. The company built its reputation on sourcing, roasting, and selling high-quality coffee beans, and it has evolved into a modern specialty coffee brand offering espresso, filter, whole-bean, ground, capsule, and drip-bag coffee. Its product range spans retail and foodservice channels, and the brand is recognized for combining traditional Norwegian roasting craft with contemporary coffee trends. Solberg Hansen operates primarily in Norway and serves the broader European market through wholesale and online sales. The brand remains privately held and is associated with premium positioning in the Norwegian coffee sector.

Solberg Hansen traces its origins to 1879, when Carl Hansen established a coffee business in Oslo. Over the decades, the company became a fixture of Norwegian coffee culture, importing and roasting beans for a growing domestic market. The brand survived economic shifts and competition, maintaining a focus on quality and craft. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, Solberg Hansen adapted to the specialty coffee movement, expanding into espresso, capsule, and drip-bag formats while continuing to offer traditional roasts. Today it remains a privately held Norwegian roaster, with a presence in retail, hospitality, and online channels.
