Sokol Unhošť

Sokol Unhošť (formally Tělocvičná jednota SOKOL Unhošť – župa Budečská) is a local gymnastics and sports association in the town of Unhošť in the Czech Republic. It is part of the Sokol movement, a Czech patriotic physical-culture organisation founded in the nineteenth century, and it is affiliated with the Budečská župa (a regional Sokol district) and with the umbrella body Česká obec sokolská (Czech Sokol Community). The association operates under the Sokol brand and name, which is a well-known Czech trademark of the Sokol movement. The unit presents itself on its official website as a welcoming Sokol jednota (local unit) and directs members and the public to its Facebook profile for current information and event invitations. Its activities are centred on gymnastics and sports, and it maintains a running section (Běžecký oddíl T.J. Sokol Unhošť) with its own photo gallery. The website also links to related local and Sokol organisations, including the Czech Sokol Community, the Budečská župa, Sokol.CZ, the town of Unhošť, the Melichar Museum of Local History in Unhošť, the ČEZ Foundation, the association Zdravá Unhošť, and the Spolek odboje Kladno. As a local Sokol unit, Sokol Unhošť is a membership-based, non-profit-oriented sports association rather than a commercial company. It carries the Sokol name and identity under the broader Sokol movement, which is organised into local jednoty, regional župy, and the national Česká obec sokolská. The unit's public presence is primarily its website and Facebook page, through which it communicates schedules, events, and news to members and the local community. Because the available evidence is limited to the official website and a Wikidata entry, detailed information such as the exact founding year, membership numbers, and a full list of sports sections is not documented here. The association remains active and is identified as Tělocvičná jednota SOKOL Unhošť – župa Budečská.

Sokol Unhošť is a local unit of the Sokol movement, a Czech physical-culture and patriotic organisation. The Sokol movement itself was founded in the nineteenth century and grew into a nationwide network of local units (jednoty), regional districts (župy), and a national umbrella body, Česká obec sokolská. Sokol Unhošť belongs to the Budečská župa, one of the regional Sokol districts, and is therefore part of this broader organisational structure. The unit is formally named Tělocvičná jednota SOKOL Unhošť – župa Budečská, indicating its status as a gymnastics unit within the Budečská župa. Its public activities include gymnastics and sports, and it maintains a running section, the Běžecký oddíl T.J. Sokol Unhošť, which has its own photo gallery. The unit communicates with members and the public through its official website and a Facebook profile, where current information and event invitations are posted. The website links to a range of related organisations, reflecting the unit's place in the local and Sokol community: the Czech Sokol Community (Česká obec sokolská), the Budečská župa, Sokol.CZ, the town of Unhošť, the Melichar Museum of Local History in Unhošť, the ČEZ Foundation, the association Zdravá Unhošť, and the Spolek odboje Kladno. These links suggest involvement in local civic and cultural life alongside sports. Detailed historical dates, such as the exact founding year of the Unhošť unit, are not provided in the available evidence. The unit remains active, as indicated by its current website and Facebook presence. As a Sokol jednota, it operates on a membership basis and is part of the non-profit-oriented Sokol structure rather than a commercial enterprise.
