Sky Electronics

Sky Electronics is a South Korean consumer electronics brand that operates the official online store at isky.co.kr. The brand sells a range of mobile accessories and small personal-care appliances, including fast chargers, power banks, wireless chargers, massage guns, hair dryers, heating pads, and tumblers. Products are marketed under sub-lines such as SKY Care and SKY Feel, and the store lists items like the SKY Care 3-in-1 curve massage gun, SKY Care anion BLDC hair dryer, SKY Feel Q1X 25W fast charger, and SKY Feel PD20 22.5W power bank. The brand is operated by Brandz Company Co., Ltd., a South Korean company that traces its corporate history to 2014 and changed its name from SkyLab Co., Ltd. to Brandz Company Co., Ltd. in 2023. The company describes itself as a D2C (direct-to-consumer) company that manufactures and sells electronic products and home appliances directly to consumers. Its stated corporate philosophy centers on 'connection' and 'cooperation' between brands. The SKY brand itself has a longer history in South Korean mobile phones, having been associated with Pantech and SK Teletech, and the current operator secured exclusive licensing rights to the SKY brand in 2018 after acquiring Pantech's domestic business. Today, Sky Electronics focuses on affordable consumer electronics and lifestyle devices sold primarily through its own online store in South Korea.

The SKY brand has its origins in South Korean mobile phone manufacturing. According to Spanish Wikipedia, Sky Electronics is a South Korean company specialized in manufacturing mobile phones, belonging to the SKY group, an acronym for Sky Teletech. It began activities in 2004, originally as a battery supplier for Pantech & Curitel, and in 2004 started manufacturing phones under the Sky Electronics brand. Despite its youth and not belonging to a large technology company, Sky Electronics had a global presence, with terminals sold in 25 countries, mainly in the Far East, the United States, and Europe. It later merged with Pantech & Curitel and SK Teletech. The current operator of the SKY brand, Brandz Company Co., Ltd., has a separate corporate history that it publishes on its official website. The company was founded in 2014. In 2015, it began distributing unlocked mobile devices and expanded distribution channels in cooperation with major South Korean MVNOs. In 2016, it received investment from venture capital firm Capstone Partners. In 2017, it purchased and moved its headquarters to an office building in the Magok District of Gangseo-gu, Seoul. In 2018, it acquired the domestic business of Pantech Co., Ltd. and secured an exclusive license for the SKY brand. In 2019, it launched SKY folder phones and began supplying the MVNO market, and launched the SKY Fit Pro wireless earbuds, marking a full-scale entry into brand business. In 2020, it sold its used-phone distribution business to Bungaejangter and shifted its focus to the SKY brand. In 2021, it changed its name from Chakan Telecom Co., Ltd. to SkyLab Co., Ltd., sold its Magok District office building, and expanded the SKY brand business. In 2023, it changed its name again from SkyLab Co., Ltd. to Brandz Company Co., Ltd., operated about 200 product lines under the SKY and VERA brands, and aimed to increase sales and profits through new product launches and expanded marketing. Today, Brandz Company describes itself as a D2C company that manufactures and sells electronic products and home appliances directly to consumers. Its corporate philosophy emphasizes 'connection' and 'cooperation' between brands. The official online store at isky.co.kr sells a variety of SKY-branded products, including chargers, power banks, massage devices, hair dryers, heating pads, and tumblers.
