History

The original 'Skarpa Warszawska' was a historical-cultural weekly magazine published in Warsaw from 1945 to 1946. Its first issue appeared on 21 October 1945. It was founded by medievalist Wanda Moszczeńska and journalist Wanda Krahelska-Filipowiczowa. The magazine carried the subtitle 'a journal dedicated to the reconstruction of the capital – the city and its people' and was an illustrated, always eight-page weekly printed in a large format. After several issues it became a separate magazine and changed to a smaller A4 format. The editor-in-chief until September 2014 was Danuta Szmit-Zawierucha.
