Overview
Siionin kevät ("Spring of Zion") was a Finnish-language Christian magazine for children published by Suomen Rauhanyhdistysten Keskusyhdistys (SRK), the central organization of the Conservative Laestadian revival movement in Finland. It appeared monthly and ran from 1978 to 2019, after which it was renamed Lasten polku ("Children's Path"). The publication's predecessor, Lasten Siioni ("Children's Zion"), had been published from 1931 to 1978. The magazine was aimed at young readers and contained Bible stories retold in child-friendly language, devotional texts, stories guiding Christian life, children's own letters and drawings, and a column collecting amusing things children had said. Each issue was 40 pages. Siionin kevät was part of SRK's family of publications, alongside Päivämies and Siionin Lähetyslehti. It was studied academically, for example in a 1999 master's thesis by Tanja Lamminmäki-Kärkkäinen on how outsiders were portrayed in the magazine. The brand is now defunct as a title, having been succeeded by Lasten polku.
