Shin Yang Group Berhad

Shin Yang Group Berhad is a Malaysian public company whose subsidiaries are principally involved in domestic and international shipping services and shipbuilding. It was incorporated in Malaysia on 15 September 2004 as Shin Yang Shipping Corporation Sdn Bhd, converted to a public limited company and assumed its present name on 20 November 2009. Tan Sri Datuk Ling Chiong Ho is the founder of the Group. Its two core businesses are shipping and shipbuilding, supported by shipping agency and forwarding, third-party logistics transportation, and ship repair, modification and maintenance works.

Shin Yang Group Berhad was incorporated in Malaysia on 15 September 2004 as a private limited company named Shin Yang Shipping Corporation Sdn Bhd. It was subsequently converted to a public limited company and assumed its present name on 20 November 2009. Tan Sri Datuk Ling Chiong Ho is the founder of the Group. The Group's subsidiaries are principally involved in the provision of domestic and international shipping services with a fleet of 295 vessels, and the Group is also one of the leading shipbuilders in Malaysia. Ancillary services include ship repair and fabrication of metal structures. The Group's two core businesses, shipping and shipbuilding, are synergistic as it constructs the vessels used in its shipping operations. Its shipping operations cover Malaysian and international waters ranging from the South East Asia region, East Asia region and Far East region to the Gulf region. The Group's milestones trace earlier operating divisions, including the establishment of Shin Yang Shipping Sdn. Bhd. in 1970, commencement of shipping operations using tugboats and barges in 1983, establishment of Piasau Slipways Sdn. Bhd. in 1986, and establishment of Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. in 1999.
