Overview

Sheedy Drayage Company is a crane rental company that has served the San Francisco area since 1925. It offers services including crane rentals, heavy-lift rigging, heavy hauling, seismic retrofitting, structural shoring, storage, and engineering.

History

Sheedy Drayage Co. was founded in 1925 by Joseph D. Sheedy, starting with a single truck and primarily hauling goods to and from San Francisco's docks and railway depots. In the 1930s, the company transitioned to specializing in hauling steel and became the primary drayage contractor for the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. During WWII, it focused on developing hoisting capabilities. In 1956, after Joe Sheedy passed away, Adolph Battaini and three others purchased the company; Battaini eventually became sole proprietor. In 1991, Donald Russell became president and formed an engineering and large project division. In 2002, Richard Battaini and Michael Battaini were named co-presidents.
