Servier Portugal Especialidades Farmacêuticas (Portugal) is a company in Lisbon, Portugal, associated with the international pharmaceutical group Servier. Servier is an international independent pharmaceutical laboratory whose history dates to 1954, when Jacques Servier created a laboratory in Orléans, France. The group's development began in France and expanded internationally, including the opening of its first subsidiary in London in 1964 and a production plant in Tianjin, China, in 2000.

Servier's history dates to 1954, when Jacques Servier created a laboratory in Orléans, France. A year later, the company launched its first two medicines, an antihypertensive and an antidiabetic. In 1956, it built its first production unit in Fleury-les-Aubrais, and in 1960 it opened the Servier Research Centre in Suresnes. International development began in 1964 with the opening of its first subsidiary in London. In 1972, the 'factory-village' of Gidy was built in the Loiret. The Servier International Research Foundation (FIRS) was created in 1986, and in 1989 the first production site outside France was built in Arklow, Ireland. In 1995, Servier made its first external growth operation by acquiring a 51% stake in the Hungarian company Egis Pharmaceuticals, and it acquired the entirety of Egis Pharmaceuticals in 2013. In 2000, it accelerated international development with the opening of a production plant in Tianjin, China. In 2011, the head office moved to Suresnes, France. In 2014, Jacques Servier died, and Olivier Laureau became President of the Group and of the Servier International Research Foundation (FIRS).
