History
Seng Fong Holdings traces its beginnings to 1986, when Er Hock Lai and his brothers established Kilang Getah Hock Guan (KGHG). In 1989, all partners of KGHG bought over Seng Fong Trading Sdn Bhd (SFT), and in a 1994 reorganisation SFT bought over KGHG. In 1996, SFT acquired Syarikat Tenaga (Gemas) Sdn Bhd, which held title to a 40-acre leasehold industrial plot in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, as well as a license granted by the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB). Processing capacity grew from 3,000 metric tonnes in 1986 to 142,000 metric tonnes as of 2021. The company operates three factories in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, producing SMR grades and premium grade rubber. It is an export-oriented business whose top five customers are from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, with long-term relationships with tyre manufacturers and rubber traders.
