Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman

Shipyard Gebr. Kooiman BV is located in Zwijndrecht on the Swinhaven. It has developed considerably since its establishment in 1884. The shipyard offers a wide range of services, varying from building new ships to (large vessel) modifications and repairs. It has modern equipment including two 110-metre slipways with a lifting capacity of approximately 1,700 tonnes, a 150-metre long outfitting quay, and two propeller docks with lifting capacity up to 1,000 tonnes.

Shipyard Gebr. Kooiman BV was established in 1884 at the location of company Helling- en Timmerwerf Van der Pijpen, which had set up in the 17th century on the Ringdijk in Zwijndrecht. The shipyard was acquired by Dirk Kooiman in 1884. The company did business on the Ringdijk for more than ninety years. A larger premises was occupied on the Swinhaven in 1975, expanding from 2,200 m2 to an area of 14,000 m2.
