Schauer Agrotronic

Schauer Agrotronic is an Austrian family business founded in 1949 by Herbert Schauer sen., now run by the third generation and producing at Prambachkirchen. It develops livestock housing technology including automatic feeding, automatic bedding and animal-welfare stall systems, and exports its quality products to 50 countries. Its history includes the Compident automatic feeding system, the Spotmix multiphase feeding system, the Perfect Farming Systems slogan, and the founding of Schauer Agrotronic subsidiaries in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia and China.

Herbert Schauer sen. founded the company Schauer in 1949 and developed pioneering products for successful livestock farming. Schauer Agrotronic is now run by the third generation and exports its quality products to 50 countries; production has always taken place in Prambachkirchen. In 1971–1986 the first export markets were opened up by Mag. Herbert Schauer and Helga Vogl, and the company established its own hardware and software department through Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Vogl, bringing computer-controlled feeding systems and a wave of automation into animal feeding. In 1987 there was a generational change and company management passed to Mag. Herbert Schauer, Helga Vogl and Dipl.Ing. Gerhard Vogl, with world market leadership in Compident automatic feeding and an international breakthrough with Spotmix multiphase feeding. From 1989–2008 Schauer Agrotronic subsidiaries were founded in Croatia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Serbia; the company marked 50 years, success as a family business through the Schauer and Vogl families, over 300 employees, international trade fair appearances, patents and awards, and founded Schauer Agrotronic Deutschland, Schweiz and Slowakei. In 2009 the company marked 60 years, management was entrusted to Mag. Michael Thumfart, and production and dispatch logistics were modernized. From 2010–2016 Perfect Farming Systems was introduced as a new slogan, alongside worldwide major projects and expansion of logistics and assembly. In 2017–2018 Schauer Agrotronic China was founded, Mag. Elisabeth Vogl joined the family business, and production was further modernized. In 2019 there was intensive research in robotics and animal welfare. In 2020–2021 there was great success with animal-welfare concepts and climate protection projects and investment in laser and pipe cutting systems. In 2022 climate goals were to be achieved through photovoltaics, and 2024 marked 75 years of Schauer.
