History

Schaublin was founded on 8 April 1915 in Malleray by Charles Schäublin. In 1924, the first branch was opened in Delémont to continue the production of clamping collets that had begun in 1920 in Malleray. The Bévilard factory was built in 1929/1930 and became the main site. In 1946, the company was transformed into a limited company under the name 'Fabrique de machines SCHAUBLIN SA'. In 1953/54, a new factory was built in Orvin. In 1956, the Tramelan factory was acquired through the takeover of AOMP, and the former station factory in Malleray-Bévilard was converted into a Foyer Schaublin and the production of rod ends under Unibal® license (Delémont). In 1969/70, a new air-conditioned factory was built in Delémont. In 1971/72, the last expansion of the Bévilard workshops took place. In 1991, the company moved to the new site. In 2000, SCHAUBLIN SA became a subsidiary of the American group RBC BEARINGS. In 2002, SCHAUBLIN SA took over the management of RBC France. In 2012, the building at Rue de la Blancherie 9, Delémont was acquired.
