Overview
Schafferer Holzbau GmbH is an Austrian timber construction and prefabricated house company headquartered in Navis, Tirol. The business traces its origins to 1958, when Karl Schafferer founded the Zimmerei Schafferer (carpentry workshop). After the founder died in a workplace accident six years later, his widow Dorothea Schafferer — mother of four children — ran the operation for seven years. From 1971 she expanded the company together with her husband Franz Pfurtscheller. In 1988 Karl Schafferer, the present managing director, took over the business. Today the company employs around 50 people and describes itself as a full-service timber construction specialist. The company operates across two main fields. Under the "Holzhaus" (timber house) line it builds single- and multi-family houses, densified housing, residential complexes, extensions, conversions, additions, attic conversions and renovations. Under "Holzbau" (timber construction) it serves commercial and industrial building, municipal buildings and transport structures, and offers carpentry, prefabrication and contract prefabrication (Lohnabbund). A third offering, "All-in-One", provides a complete solution from land acquisition through planning and financing to a turnkey project. Schafferer Holzbau positions itself around the natural building material wood combined with a high technical standard, specialist expertise and logistics know-how. It emphasizes sustainability, comfort and environmental protection for future generations. The company is a member of the htt15 cooperation and the Passivhaus Tirol network, and is a LIGNOTREND specialist operation in Tirol. Its management team includes Karl Schafferer, Ing. Florian Reimeir and Andreas Pfurtscheller as managing directors, with Christian Egger as authorized signatory (Prokurist).
