History
Savotta is a family-owned Finnish company established in 1955 and located in Karstula, Finland. Long before it was called Finn-Savotta Oy, the company was called "Pylkönmäen Nahkatyö" (Pylkönmäki Leatherworks), founded by Allan and Marjatta Halme in 1955. In the beginning Pylkönmäen Nahkatyö produced durable equipment for loggers; gloves, bags and backpacks, guided by the motto "Let's make these to endure". The principle "Tehdään niin, että kestää!" ("Let's make these to endure!") has been the guideline for Savotta ever since the founder Allan Halme said the words in 1955. The company has been collaborating with the Finnish Defence Forces since the 1960s.
