Sandbanks Winery

Sandbanks Winery is a winery situated along the shores of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Founder Catherine Langlois purchased the land and planted over 5 acres of vines in 2001, with the first harvest in 2003 producing 150 cases of Baco Noir sold to local restaurants and bars. The winery opened a wine boutique in 2004, received its first LCBO listings in 2008, and expanded its boutique, tasting room, and barrel room between 2010 and 2017. In 2020, Sandbanks was purchased by ARTERRA Wines Canada. The winery offers a tasting room and boutique, barrel room, tasting experiences, outdoor picnic area, and events, and holds the #1 spot on Trip Advisor in the Wellington Area with a 2024 Trip Advisor's Choice Award.

In 2001, founder Catherine Langlois purchased the land and planted 5+ acres of Baco Noir, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Vidal, Geisenheim and Marechal Foch. Her first harvest was in 2003, producing 150 cases of Baco Noir sold exclusively to local restaurants and bars. In 2004, she opened a wine boutique in the basement of her home on the property, following the first Harvest party in 2005. In 2007, Prince Edward County became a VQA designated area, and the following year Sandbanks received its first LCBO listings, now with over 16 brands at the LCBO and over 30 brands in total. Between 2010 and 2017, Sandbanks Winery built and expanded its wine boutique and tasting room and added a private barrel room and tasting bar. In 2020, Sandbanks was purchased by ARTERRA Wines Canada.
