History
Salzburg Wohnbau GmbH was founded in 2001, when three non-profit housing companies — Bausparerheim, ÖSW Wohnbauvereinigung and Salzburger Siedlungswerk — used a new legal option to establish a commercial enterprise, pioneering new territory in Austria. Within a short time, the company developed into a leading company in residential and municipal construction across the federal state. With a construction volume of around 80 million euros, it annually creates affordable housing in the form of owner-occupied flats, rent-to-own flats and rental flats, as well as infrastructure buildings in the regions. Including property management, the company group is counted among the most innovative pioneers in the industry. In September 2011, the then Deputy Governor Dr. Wilfried Haslauer presented the Salzburg provincial coat of arms as a sign of appreciation and trust, which Salzburg Wohnbau is now officially permitted to bear.
