Safari Kid was founded in 2005 by Shahdokht "Shy" Mudakavi, an educator who aimed to provide high-quality early childhood education that nurtures each child's potential. The first preschool opened in Newark, California, starting with five children in an 850 sq. ft. room, and it quickly attracted more families from San Francisco and nearby. In 2009, the first after-school program was launched in Northern California. By 2014, driven by demand from existing teachers and families, Safari Kid expanded across Canada and beyond, growing into a global education franchise.
