Rug Doctor

Rug Doctor is a carpet cleaning rental brand that, together with BISSELL Rental, offers professional-grade carpet and upholstery cleaning machines for rent and for purchase, along with cleaning products. The brand's first carpet cleaning machine was created by a professional carpet cleaner in his garage in the early 1970s, and Rug Doctor machines are used by DIYers and professionals. Rug Doctor and BISSELL, described as industry leaders in rental and floorcare products, combined their rental programs, and the combined fleet of rental carpet cleaners appears in red, green, purple, and blue.

The first Rug Doctor carpet cleaning machine was created by a professional carpet cleaner in his garage in the early 1970s, because he believed people should have a more accessible and affordable option to professional services. It quickly gained popularity and began to appear in grocery and hardware stores. Today Rug Doctor machines are used by DIYers and professionals. Rug Doctor and BISSELL Rental combined their rental programs; the combined fleet of rental carpet cleaners appears in a cheerful array of red, green, purple, and blue, and the companies chose to celebrate their diversity of colors, displays, and signs rather than immediately streamlining, keeping costs low to focus on offering more machines to rental customers.
