History

Ruark's origins go back to the early days of hi-fi. In 1985, using their savings, Brian and Alan O'Rourke (father and son) rented a small industrial unit in Rayleigh, Essex, as a workshop to start developing their first loudspeaker systems, forming Ruark Acoustics. In the beginning the company made loudspeaker systems for audio enthusiasts, but since 2006 it has applied its skills to create radios and music systems with wide ranging appeal. The company is based on the South East Coast of England and describes itself as a family-owned company.
