Overview
Royal Niestern Sander is a full-service shipyard located in the Northern Netherlands with over 100 years of experience. It designs, builds, maintains and repairs ships, and specializes in complex customer-oriented ship conversions. The yard has three locations: Farmsum, Delfzijl and Eemshaven, and serves markets including seagoing vessels, offshore, and inland shipping.
History
Royal Niestern Sander was established in 1901 due to a great demand for shipbuilding activities in the Northern Netherlands and the passion of the founders for shipbuilding. In 1980, Niestern Delfzijl merged with Sander and the yard was named Niestern Sander BV. In 2005, Niestern Sander ceased to be a family company; the shares were acquired by Central Industry Group and Royal Wagenborg. In 2008, Wagenborg became the sole shareholder.
