Overview

Rosenhof Seniorenwohnanlagen is a privately run German company that operates senior living and care residences under the Rosenhof brand. Its eleven houses are located in Travemünde, Ahrensburg, Hamburg, Großhansdorf, Berlin, Erkrath, Kronberg and Bad Kissingen, combining metropolitan locations such as Berlin and Hamburg with holiday regions such as Travemünde on the Baltic Sea and Bad Kissingen. According to the company, around 4,000 seniors lived in all its facilities together as of August 2023, and it employed roughly 1,700 staff as of December 2023. Each Rosenhof house includes an apartment area with one- to three-room apartments ranging from about 30 to 120 square metres, and each has its own outpatient care service. Nine of the eleven locations also have their own fully inpatient nursing care area. The company positions itself as offering a comfortable life in old age in a family-like atmosphere, with services spanning apartments, care, gastronomy and additional services. It also offers trial living (Probewohnen) so prospective residents can test the concept. With almost 50 years of experience, Rosenhof describes itself as one of the leading companies in the field of senior living, support and care. The brand's history reaches back to 1972, when the first house, Rosenhof Großhansdorf 1, opened. Further houses followed in Großhansdorf, Bad Kissingen, Erkrath-Hochdahl, Ahrensburg, Kronberg im Taunus, Erkrath, Hamburg-Blankenese, Lübeck-Travemünde, Berlin-Mariendorf and Berlin-Zehlendorf. The company is privately owned and not listed on a stock exchange.

History

The history of Rosenhof Seniorenwohnanlagen begins in 1972 with the opening of the house Rosenhof Großhansdorf 1. This first residence established the model that the company would repeat at further locations: a senior living complex with apartments, care services and a family-like atmosphere. In 1975 the second house, Rosenhof Großhansdorf 2, opened in the same town. Expansion continued in the late 1970s with the opening of Rosenhof Bad Kissingen and Rosenhof Erkrath-Hochdahl, both in 1978. In 1981 Rosenhof Ahrensburg followed. The mid-1980s brought two more houses: Rosenhof Kronberg im Taunus and Rosenhof Erkrath, both opened in 1984. In 1989 the company opened Rosenhof Hamburg-Blankenese, extending its presence to Hamburg. In 1992 Rosenhof Lübeck-Travemünde opened on the Baltic coast, adding a holiday region to the portfolio. In 1999 the company expanded to the capital with Rosenhof Berlin-Mariendorf, and in 2007 it opened Rosenhof Berlin-Zehlendorf, its eleventh house. By the 2020s the group operated eleven locations across Germany, including Travemünde, Ahrensburg, Hamburg, Großhansdorf, Berlin, Erkrath, Kronberg and Bad Kissingen. According to the company, around 4,000 seniors lived in all its facilities together as of August 2023, and it employed roughly 1,700 staff as of December 2023. The company describes itself as having almost 50 years of experience and as one of the leading companies in the field of senior living, support and care. It remains a privately run German company.
