Rodriguez-Lopez Productions

Rodriguez-Lopez Productions is an independent record label owned by Omar Rodríguez-López, the former owner of the label Gold Standard Labs. The label is closely associated with Rodríguez-López's musical circle, releasing material by acts such as Zechs Marquise, The Mars Volta (on vinyl), De Facto, El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group. Each of these artists is connected to Omar Rodríguez-López in some way beyond the label itself: Zechs Marquise features his brother Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez on drums; Omar is the guitarist in The Mars Volta, El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group; and he was the bassist in De Facto. The label therefore functions largely as an outlet for Rodríguez-López's own projects and those of his close collaborators and family. It operates as a private, artist-owned imprint rather than a major-label subsidiary, and its catalog is rooted in the progressive, experimental rock and Latin-influenced styles associated with these groups.

Rodriguez-Lopez Productions is an independent record label owned by Omar Rodríguez-López, who was previously the owner of the label Gold Standard Labs. The label's roster has included a small number of known artists, among them Zechs Marquise, The Mars Volta (for vinyl releases), De Facto, El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group. All of these acts are connected to Omar Rodríguez-López beyond their association with the label: Zechs Marquise's drummer is his brother Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez; Omar himself is the guitarist in The Mars Volta, El Grupo Nuevo De Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group; and he was also the bassist in De Facto. The label thus serves as a vehicle for Rodríguez-López's own creative output and that of his immediate musical family and collaborators. Detailed founding dates, headquarters, and catalog numbers are not provided in the available sources.
