Overview
Rockwood Charcoal offers premium lump charcoal and other barbecue essentials that are all-natural and made in Missouri. The brand emphasizes real wood and real flavors, with products that light easily and burn hot. Rockwood charcoal is made from Missouri oak, hickory, maple, and pecan, and contains no chemicals, fillers, binders, or additives. The owner, Jonathan Heslop, started the brand after discovering old charcoal kilns in the Mark Twain Forest.
History
The story of Rockwood began with owner Jonathan Heslop, who, fifteen years ago, flew over charcoal kilns hidden deep in the Mark Twain Forest. He later found the old kilns that once powered the Missouri charcoal industry nearly 200 years ago, and made it his mission to bring great charcoal back to St. Louis.
