Overview
RLB Kunstbrücke is the art exhibition brand of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG (RLB Tirol), a regional bank in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It was opened in October 1998 as a dedicated exhibition space in Innsbruck and, until July 2020, presented 62 exhibitions featuring the work of Tyrolean artists, thematic projects, and insights into museum and private collections, each accompanied by a catalogue. In 2001 the brand expanded with the RLB Atelier in the bank's Lienz branch, which from 2013 to 2025 focused on solo presentations of young Tyrolean artists. In May 2026 the Kunstbrücke reopened in a new form, dropping the 'RLB' prefix, as a 220-square-metre exhibition space designed as an art project by Dorit Margreiter Choy in collaboration with the Vienna architecture firm Pichler & Traupmann. The new venue is located in the RAIQA, the new headquarters of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol AG near Innsbruck's main railway station. The RAIQA combines the bank, a Radisson RED hotel with an event centre, regional shops, the rooftop restaurant and bar loft9, and FRIEDA's Hub, an open forum and non-commercial meeting zone. The Kunstbrücke's exhibition architecture is deliberately flexible: mobile stands with movable panels of different sizes can be rearranged and combined to create changing sightlines and spatial situations, complemented by a dynamic rail system for curtains that can divide, open, or densify the space. Exhibitions thus take place not in a rigid architecture but in a space that changes with them, supported by a resource-conscious exhibition design. The programme features three exhibitions per year, focusing on solo presentations of renowned contemporary artists from Tyrol, Austria, and the Alpine region. Every two years, an exhibition of the winners of the RLB Kunstpreis is held; occasional presentations from the bank's own collection are also planned. The RLB Kunstpreis has been awarded since 2004. Admission and all events are free. The opening exhibition, running from 13 October 2026 to 9 January 2027, features Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau with 'Come and Grow'. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 14:00–18:00 and Saturday 10:00–13:00, closed Sundays and holidays; mornings are available for school classes by arrangement. The main entrance is on Adamgasse in the RAIQA, Raiffeisenplatz 1, 6020 Innsbruck.
