Rifugio Auronzo

Rifugio Auronzo is a mountain hut located at an altitude of 2,333 metres in the heart of the Dolomites, directly beneath the south walls of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. It offers 25 comfortable rooms with a total of 99 beds, along with dining and bar services. The hut is the main access point for visiting the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and serves as a starting point for numerous excursions, traverses and climbs. It is reachable on foot or via a wide panoramic road, mainly from Misurina, and is open from late May to October.

Rifugio Auronzo is situated at an altitude of 2,333 metres in the heart of the Dolomites, directly beneath the south walls of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The Dolomites were recognised in 2009 as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo are described as the symbolic mountain and most well-known image of the area. The hut is the main access point for visiting the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. It is accessible from late May to October, primarily via a wide panoramic municipal road starting from Misurina. The hut is 25 km from Auronzo di Cadore, 18 km from Cortina d'Ampezzo and 16 km from Alta Pusteria. A second access starts from Val Marzon, and other accesses are possible from nearby huts via numerous scenic trails. During the winter period, the hut (which usually opens on weekends, with only bar-restaurant service) can be reached from the south side, namely from Lake Misurina and Lake Antorno, on foot, with snowshoes or with alpine skis.
