Riau 21 Cinema

Riau 21 Cinema is a cinema located in Pekanbaru, the capital city of Riau province, Indonesia. It operates under the Cinema 21 (21 Cineplex) banner, the largest cinema chain in Indonesia, whose official website lists Pekanbaru among the many cities where its theatres are present. As part of the 21 Cineplex network, Riau 21 Cinema shows mainstream Indonesian and international films, offers advance ticket sales, and follows the chain's standard cinema formats, which across the group include regular 2D auditoriums and IMAX screens in selected locations. The 21 Cineplex brand is one of the best-known cinema operators in Indonesia, with a nationwide footprint spanning major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Makassar, Denpasar and Pekanbaru. Individual locations like Riau 21 Cinema carry the local city or region name while sharing the group's programming, ticketing system and branding. The cinema serves moviegoers in Pekanbaru and the surrounding Riau region, providing a venue for both domestic releases and Hollywood titles. Because Riau 21 Cinema is a single-site cinema brand within a larger chain, detailed public information about its opening date, number of screens and seating capacity is limited. Its identity is tied to the Cinema 21 chain, and its primary public presence is through the 21cineplex.com website, where showtimes, now-playing titles and advance ticket sales for the Pekanbaru location are listed alongside other cities in the network.

Riau 21 Cinema is a cinema in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, operating as part of the Cinema 21 (21 Cineplex) chain. The 21 Cineplex group is the largest cinema chain in Indonesia, and its official website lists Pekanbaru among the cities where its theatres operate. Individual cinemas in the chain are typically named after their city or region, so Riau 21 Cinema represents the group's presence in Pekanbaru, the capital of Riau province. The broader Cinema 21 chain has grown over decades to cover dozens of cities across the Indonesian archipelago, from Jakarta and Surabaya to Medan, Makassar, Denpasar and Pekanbaru. The chain's programming includes Indonesian films and international releases, and it offers advance ticket sales through its website. Selected locations feature premium formats such as IMAX, though it is not confirmed whether Riau 21 Cinema itself includes an IMAX auditorium. Specific historical details about Riau 21 Cinema — such as its exact opening date, original number of screens, renovations or ownership changes — are not available in the supplied evidence. Its history is therefore best understood as part of the expansion of the Cinema 21 brand into provincial capitals and secondary cities across Indonesia.
