Overview
RHEINZINK is a producer of titanium zinc founded in 1966 and headquartered in the Ruhr region of Germany. It supplies roof systems, facade systems and roof drainage products, and exports its titanium zinc globally. The company is a subsidiary of the Grillo Group and employs around 500 people internationally.
History
In the 1960s, industrial visionary Herbert Grillo examined a recently manufactured zinc sheet that no longer met quality standards for producing high-quality roof drainage systems and roofing. In 1966, he found the solution in the USA: a smelting, casting and rolling system. He attracted Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke and Stolberger Zink AG as shareholders. In 1978, management decided to concentrate solely on construction zinc, and industrial production of finished products began at the same time. In 1988, RHEINZINK developed a pre-weathering system for bright rolled material, which remains a unique selling point. In 2007, the second generation of pre-weathering systems was inaugurated, allowing the pre-weathering production line to work continuously.
