History

Restream was founded in 2015 by Alex K, Andrew S, and Alex B in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, with a mission to help creators reach a wider audience. A few months after launch, Boiler Room broadcasted an event with Solomun and DJ EZ using Restream's MVP, and the company earned its first $15 after adding a donation button to the home screen. Restream was featured in TechCrunch, launched on Product Hunt, and secured its first angel investment of $50K via Skype from Ivan Sezonov and Alex Petrov. By the end of its first year, it reached 5,000 daily streams and 20,000 live video creators. In 2016, it started 24/7 live support and launched Scheduler (now Upload & Stream) to broadcast pre-recorded videos live on multiple platforms. It was accepted into the International Accelerator in Austin, TX, and added Periscope and Facebook Live as channels.
