Renaras is an Amsterdam-based atelier that designs and reimagines Japanese ceremonial silk, such as kimono obi and furisode, into wall art, table couture, and luxury objects for homes. The brand emphasizes the history and uniqueness of each piece, offering products like table runners, placemats, pillow covers, bags, wall tapestries, and furoshiki.

Renaras works from Amsterdam, a city that has been in conversation with Japan for four hundred years. The name was chosen to hold two worlds: the Renaissance in the Western sense, and Japan, where the silk was born. Nara, the earliest imperial capital, is referenced, along with Ren (連) meaning connection and Rei (麗) meaning beauty. Every Renaras piece begins as Japanese ceremonial silk, woven for hare (晴れ), the bright days of a life, and the brand gives that silk another life.
