Overview
Rembertów Bezpośrednio (RB) is a civic association and local media brand operating in the Rembertów district of Warsaw, Poland. It began in 2012 as a blog founded by residents to provide an essential guide to the district, featuring over 100 local businesses, important articles, and local insights. In 2015, the initiative was officially registered as an association (stowarzyszenie rejestrowe). The association is led by a three-person board headed by Aleksander Lesiński. Since 2014, its members have held seats on the district council. RB engages in local politics at the municipal level, focusing on infrastructure and transport issues such as the construction of a tunnel connecting Marsa and Chruściela streets. It organizes charitable actions, sports and neighborhood events, fairs, and online activities, and publishes a periodical. Notable campaigns include the annual 'Pogotowie Świętego Mikołaja' (Santa's Emergency) since 2012, supporting around 200 children and seniors from the poorest families, and the 'rowerem Bezpośrednio' (formerly Rembertowska Masa Krytyczna) bicycle rally since 2013, which attracts up to 300 cyclists. In elections, RB has fielded candidates under the Komitet Wyborczy Rembertów Bezpośrednio, winning seats in 2014, 2018, and 2024. The brand combines hyperlocal journalism, community organizing, and political advocacy, making it a distinctive civic media entity in Warsaw.
