Overview
Reichhart Logistik GmbH (stylised REICHHART Logistik) is a medium-sized, internationally active logistics service provider headquartered in Gilching, Bavaria, Germany. The company traces its origins to 1967, when Horst Reichhart registered a general freight transport business at what remains the company's headquarters site and acquired its first truck the same year. More than five decades later it is still an owner-managed family business, now led in the second generation by managing director Alexander Reichhart, with Michael Jackl serving on the company advisory board. Reichhart positions itself as an integral logistics partner that designs customised solutions along the entire value chain. Its service portfolio is organised into five competence centres: transport logistics, sequencing and assembly, warehousing, factory logistics and digital logistics. Under the umbrella of industrial services it offers contract logistics from warehousing and factory logistics through to sequencing and assembly, while its digital logistics unit develops flexible, standardised digital solutions for complex requirements. The company emphasises "green logistics", combining sustainability with economic efficiency, and operates a growing fleet of alternatively powered vehicles. According to its own facts and figures, Reichhart operates 17 locations in four countries — Germany, Austria and France, plus project activity in Algeria — with around 850 employees, roughly 96,550 square metres of logistics space and revenue of about €90 million in 2025. Its own vehicle fleet, an integral part of the business since 2009, comprises around 95 trucks supported by some 60 partner trucks, driving roughly 8 million kilometres per year. The company is ISO 9001-certified and has repeatedly been recognised as a top employer and among Bavaria's best companies. Reichhart serves clients from industry and trade across Europe, with sites deliberately located at strategically important logistics hubs aligned with customers' value chains. Recent contract wins include distribution centre activities for Stellantis &You and a project for Purem by Eberspächer in Oran, Algeria, starting in 2026. The company continues to develop its brand identity for international orientation while maintaining its roots in the Gilching region.
History
The success story of REICHHART Logistik began in 1967, when Horst Reichhart registered a general freight transport business at what is still the company's headquarters in Gilching, Bavaria, and acquired the company's first truck in the same year. From these one-man origins the business grew steadily into an international logistics service provider, remaining an owner-managed family company now in its second generation. In 1988 Michael Jackl, today a managing partner and member of the advisory board, joined the company. From 1990 the company expanded beyond pure transport into contract logistics services. In 1999 Alexander Reichhart joined the management, and in 2003 the subsidiary Reichhart Logistik Austria GmbH was founded near Graz, Austria. Three years later, in 2006, Reichhart Logistique France SARL followed with a site in Maubeuge, France, extending the company's footprint into a third European country. In 2009 Reichhart took a stake in Lobeko GmbH; at the beginning of 2010 this business unit was renamed Reichhart just in time GmbH and has since drawn on a growing own vehicle fleet. The company's own fleet has been an integral part of its expertise since 2009. From March 2014 Reichhart participated in the nationwide German field trial with long trucks (Lang-Lkw). Also in 2014, to enter digital logistics, the company founded Reichhart digital logistics GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main, which develops the logistics software "motus", in use at Reichhart sites since 2019. In 2017 the company celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2022 Alexander Reichhart took over sole management of the business. Over its more than 50-year history the service portfolio has consistently developed into five competence centres: transport logistics, sequencing and assembly, warehousing, factory logistics and digital logistics. The company has also been recognised with awards: the fleet subsidiary Reichhart just in time GmbH received the "Bayerns Best 50" award in 2014, the parent company was recognised in 2011 as one of Bavaria's 50 best companies (reaching the list four times in total), and in 2019 Focus magazine named Reichhart a "Top Employer" for the third time. More recently, in 2025 REICHHART Logistik won contracts for Stellantis &You distribution centres, handling goods receipt and parts at the Wiesbaden and Ettlingen sites. In 2026 the company was awarded a strategically significant contract in Oran, Algeria, by long-standing partner Purem by Eberspächer, assuming full operational responsibility from June 2026 for exhaust systems processed at a new production plant, including welding, sequencing and transport processes. Today the company describes itself as an internationally operating logistics service provider with 17 locations in Germany, Austria and France, around 850 employees, roughly 96,550 square metres of logistics space and revenue of about €90 million in 2025.
