Pyrex Britain

Pyrex® is a cookware brand whose UK webshop presents a range of resistant and reliable cookware, including glass air fryer dishes, pots and pans, casseroles, roasting dishes, cake molds and steam cooking items. The brand's own history page states that the Pyrex® dish was born in 1915 when Bessie and Jessie Littleton developed the first ultra-resistant glass baking dish using NONEX glass developed by the American company Corning. The same page notes that although the brand was born in the United States, its story continued in France, where glassblowers Clovis and Léon Régent produced their first borosilicate flasks in 1922, and that in 1970 the factory was relocated to Châteauroux. According to the brand's history page, everything began in 1915 thanks to Bessie and Jessie Littleton. Bessie grew tired of seeing her glass dishes crack during cooking, and she had the idea to use a highly resistant material from industry, NONEX glass, to cook her dishes. This glass, developed by the American company Corning, was originally used to protect the bulbs of railroad signal lanterns. With her husband, Bessie tested and developed the best possible cooking dish, marking the birth of the Pyrex® dish, the first ultra-resistant glass baking dish. Although the Pyrex® brand was born in the United States, its story continued in France: in 1922, glassblowers Clovis and Léon Régent, pioneers of the brand in France, produced their first borosilicate flasks at the glassworks of Bagneaux-sur-Loing. In 1970, the factory was relocated to Châteauroux, which gradually became the main production site.
