Pykë-Presje

Pykë-Presje is an independent cultural platform, bookshop and publishing initiative based in Prizren, Kosovo. Its name is pronounced [pü:k presye] and translates as "Wedge-Comma". Active since 2021, the project works mainly with printed matter, producing experimental radical publications while also running a physical cultural space and bookshop at Tahir Meha 29A in Prizren. Alongside its publishing activity, Pykë-Presje organises exhibitions, discursive programs and workshops, positioning itself as a meeting point for critical, internationalist and revolutionary thought in the region. A central element of the platform is its archive and library, which emphasises local histories of people's movements, emancipatory women's organizations and class struggles that defy nation-state narratives. This archival focus distinguishes Pykë-Presje from a conventional bookstore: it functions simultaneously as a publisher, a research resource and a community space. The platform's output includes books, posters and other printed materials, which can be obtained directly from the bookshop or by contacting the initiative. Pykë-Presje operates as a small, independent and privately run entity rather than a commercial chain or corporate subsidiary.
