With around 350 field technicians, it was described as the largest manufacturer-independent electrical customer service provider in Germany. It operated a nationwide network and installed, repaired and maintained large electrical appliances in the white goods segment. As a factory customer service for various manufacturers, the company provided services to end customers within the scope of statutory warranty as well as for extended and expired warranties. In addition, Profectis provided services in the commercial environment. The company was founded in 1969 by Gustav Schickedanz under the name Quelle Technischer Kundendienst as the customer service of Quelle GmbH. At the end of 2015, Media-Saturn took over the repair service provider. In September 2019, Media-Saturn announced that it would discontinue the Profectis brand at the end of 2019.
