Preiser

Preiser, formally Paul M. Preiser GmbH, is a German producer of miniature figures and accessories for model railways, dioramas, and architectural modelling. The company is best known for its finely detailed injection-moulded figures in scales such as H0 (1:87) and N (1:160), sold under the Preiser brand and the Merten programme. Its catalogue spans railway staff, passengers, animals, military and historical figures, and scenic accessories, making it a staple of European model-making. The firm operates from Germany and sells through specialist model shops and distributors in Europe and internationally. Its official website, preiserfiguren.de, serves as the main product and information hub, offering downloadable catalogues, price lists, assembly instructions, and a newsletter called Preiser News. Recent communications highlight new releases for spring 2026, current deliveries, and a special exhibition postponed to 2026. Preiser is a private, family-style company rather than a listed corporation. Its product strategy emphasises continuous new figure sets, downloadable PDF assembly guides replacing printed instructions, and video modelling tips on YouTube. The Merten programme is presented as a distinct line within the Preiser offering. The brand's reputation rests on the precision and variety of its figures, which are used by hobbyists, diorama builders, and model railway enthusiasts worldwide.
