According to its company history, in 1942 twenty-six-year-old Arnold Daniels volunteered for the U.S. Army Air Corps and was shipped to England as a flight navigator, where he was part of a team that logged more than 30 missions without a single combat casualty; commanders sent in a psychologist to study the team's effectiveness, which was Daniels' first encounter with psychometric testing. After the war, Daniels returned to Boston and briefly studied workplace psychology at Harvard. In 1952 he released the first Predictive Index Assessment, and in 1955 he founded the company. The Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment was built from a normative sample of thousands of people and has since been the subject of nearly 500 validation studies.
