Overview

Praga Digitals is a French classical music record label founded in 1991 by Pierre-Émile Barbier. It was established with the aim of reissuing sound archives from Czechoslovak radio. After the national label Supraphon ceased producing new recordings from 1989 for several years, Barbier created the Praga Digitals section in 1992 to distinguish older productions from new digital recordings. The label releases CDs and SA-CDs, and was distributed by Le Chant du monde until 1996 and subsequently by Harmonia Mundi. In September 2021, the catalogue was sold to the company Little Trebeca. The label is known for its rich catalogue of Czech and Central European classical music, including historical recordings and new digital productions.
