Plaza São Rafael Hotel

Plaza São Rafael Hotel is a hotel located in Porto Alegre, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The property belongs to the Network Plaza Hotel and is described as one of the better-known hotels in the state. Its activities extend beyond conventional guest accommodation: the hotel offers varied rooms and facilities for events, including conferences, exhibitions, weddings, and gatherings connected with the Jewish community. The property also includes restaurants and shops, giving it a broader hospitality and events role within central Porto Alegre. A notable part of the operation is the Events Center Plaza São Rafael, located across Avenida Alberto Bins from the hotel. This separate but associated venue allows the business to support larger functions and reinforces its position as an events destination as well as a lodging property. The hotel site occupies land that previously served as the first location of Colégio Farroupilha, linking the property to an earlier institutional history in the city. Available reference material does not establish the hotel's opening year, founder, ownership structure, executive leadership, financial performance, official website URL, or current operating status. It also does not document international operations, major rebrandings, acquisitions, controversies, or specific room categories. On the available evidence, Plaza São Rafael Hotel is best understood as a locally significant Brazilian hotel and event venue operating within the Network Plaza Hotel portfolio.

Plaza São Rafael Hotel is located in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and forms part of the Network Plaza Hotel group. The available reference material presents it as a recognized hotel in the state, particularly because of the breadth of its hospitality and event functions. No reliable opening date or founding account is provided, so the chronology of its development cannot be reconstructed in detail. The hotel occupies land with an earlier educational history. Before the current hotel was established, the site was the first location of Colégio Farroupilha. The reference material does not specify when the school left the site, when construction of the hotel began, or whether the property was created through a conversion, replacement, or redevelopment of earlier buildings. Over time, Plaza São Rafael Hotel became associated not only with overnight lodging but also with organized gatherings. Its facilities have been used or presented for exhibitions, conferences, weddings, and events connected with the Jewish community. The property includes restaurants and shops, adding food, beverage, and retail functions to the core hotel business. This mix indicates a model centered on both accommodation and destination-based events. The associated Events Center Plaza São Rafael is situated across Avenida Alberto Bins from the hotel. Its separate location provides additional event capacity and is a defining feature of the property’s operating footprint. Together, the hotel and events center serve as a hospitality and meeting complex in Porto Alegre. The available sources do not provide documented milestones for changes in ownership, management, room inventory, renovations, branding, or expansion. They also do not establish whether the hotel is currently operating, although the reference description discusses it as an existing property. No substantiated information is available on financial results, executives, marketing campaigns, legal disputes, scandals, or acquisitions.
